About Aimee

Aimee has practiced law for over 25 years in the areas of real estate, business and corporate law, and, in the early years, commercial litigation in New York City.  Over the past decade in the San Francisco Bay area, Aimee narrowed her practice considerably. She now devotes her practice to representing nonprofit lenders and foundations, such as Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFI’s), to assist with the financing of community development projects. Such projects include the development and preservation of supportive and low income housing for low income persons, seniors, homeless persons, veterans, youths and women, charter schools in low income communities, financing for small and minority owned businesses, emergency shelters, food banks and financing for nonprofit animal organizations.

Aimee’s passion for helping people and animals in need started when she was a young girl growing up in New York City in the 1970’s.  At that time, when she walked through the City Aimee’s heart would break when she saw someone homeless or in need including, at times, a beloved companion animal.  So, when Aimee met Dave Thomas, a partner with McPharlin Sprinkles & Thomas LLP, in the summer of 2007 and learned of his practice representing CDFI’s in connection with creating housing for people in need, she knew this was an area of practice that would speak to her soul.  In January 2019, Aimee opened her own office to continue her practice of law representing CDFI’s and other nonprofit lenders and foundations. While Aimee is no longer associated with Dave’s firm, Aimee and Dave continue to work together.

Aimee received her B.A. from Smith College and her J.D., from Albany Law School of Union University where she won the regional and national American Bar Association sponsored Negotiations Competition.   Aimee is admitted to practice law in California and New York.
